Ahora que ando trabajando el tema del trabajo en equipo sumado a la experiencia de ultimate, encuentro lo siguiente:

Cross-train: See "Time for Change" (below).

Easy run: 30 minutes or less, low-intensity run at a conversational pace

Hill workout: Run at one minute slower than 10-K pace halfway up a quarter-mile-long hill. Run at that pace down. Repeat twice. Run to the top and down three times.

Intervals 1: Warm up, incorporating two 20-to 30-second pickups at 5-K pace. Sprint for 20 seconds, then jog for 10 seconds. Repeat four to eight times. Walk one minute. Repeat sequence (sprint/jog repeats/walk) two to four more times.

Intervals 2: Warm up for 10 to 15 minutes. Then alternate three to five minutes running slightly faster than 5-K pace with three minutes of jogging slowly. Repeat five times.

Long run: 60 minutes or longer at a conversational pace

Quarter-mile repeats: For the duration of the run, alternate three minutes of running 15 seconds faster than 5-K pace with three minutes of jogging slowly.

Short and steady: 30 minutes or less, medium-intensity run (you should feel breathless)

Short sprints: Run 100 meters all out. Walk 30 seconds. Repeat five to 10 times.

Tempo run: Warm up, then increase pace to an effort that is just beyond comfortable. Run as time allows.

PAUC 2011 - Medellin


Nunca pense que iba a lograr montarme en ese avion que salio de Panama, rumbo a Medellin el miercoles 23 de noviembre.
Despues de varias semanas de lucha y unas tres de practicas, parece que esa ilusion de participar en un evento deportivo internacional por fin se cocinaba. Salimos muy contentos y entusiasmados con check list de que llevar a un torneo de ultimate, opiniones encontradas, tacos, taquillos, medias de compresion, licras, gorras, en fin todo lo que se imaginan!
Ese dia llegamos sin problema a Medellin y asistimos a la inauguracion, bastante lluviosa por cierto. El sentimiento de pisar un estadio y ver publico es algo especial, tiene magia! Parce que todo estaba listo para empezar PAUC 2011...ultimaaaate!
Dia 1. Jumara v.s Kie de Medellin, paliza! Quede feliz porque hice el primer gol de JUMARA en el torneo.
Jumara v.s Alebrijes de Mexico, paliza parte II.
Jumara v.s Domino de Republica Dominicana, tarde en la noche, buen juego, reñido...no nos alcanzo!
Dia 2. Jumara v.s Colombia Mixto, cerca, cerquitica! Perdimos por un punto...
Jumara v.s. Warao de Venezuela, paliza parte III, esta gente tenia 4 equipos, asi que solo en la parte fisica la recuperacion era mucho mas rapida.
Dia 3. Jumara v.s Truco de Argentina, partido de relax, lo disfrutamos mucho, pero tampoco ganamos!

Haber visto las finales de hombres y mujeres tambien fue tremenda experiencia, ver jugadores con tantas capacidades es muy interesante. El grupo de Jumara estuvo bastante unido, nos apoyamos entre los dos equipos (masc y fem), ademas, el nivel de juego y el espiritu de los jugadores es algo que ojala logremos impulsar en Panama. Esto se trata de camaraderia, de panas, de amigos!!!
